WebPay fully respects your right to privacy, and will not collect any personal information about you on this website without your clear permission. Any personal information which you volunteer will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Acts, 1988 & 2003.

Collection and use of personal information

The quantity of information that is collected and that personally identifies you or allows you to be contacted is minimised in WebPay. The information captured is only used by WebPay and its associated service providers to operate the WebPay service. To process a payment, you enter your card details directly with our payment services provider, Realex (http://www.realexpayments.com/). Card numbers are not stored on the WebPay site.

WebPay will collect other information deemed necessary by the local authority or merchant to provide the service. This information is stored by WebPay and is passed to the local authority as part of the payment process. WebPay does not share your personal information with any other party except as necessary to fulfil legal and regulatory obligations.

Your rights regarding data supplied via this

You have a right to be given a copy of your personal data which you may have supplied via this website. To exercise this right, you must email WebPay@lgma.ie. You should include any personal identifiers which you supplied earlier via the website (e.g. Name; address; phone number; e-mail address). Your request will be dealt with as soon as possible and will take not more than 40 days to process. In certain circumstance you may also request that data which you have supplied via the website be deleted. To exercise this right, you would generally be expected to identify some contravention of data protection law in the manner in which ePayments processes the data concerned.

WebPay uses session cookies that we transfer to your computer for the duration of your visit. Q. Will my personal information be shared with any other companies?
A. Your card details are entered directly onto Realex payments (http://www.realexpayments.ie). Other information you enter is forwarded to the local authority to whom you are making the payment. The exact content of this information varies from payment to payment. WebPay will not divulge your personal information with any other party at any time, except in response to a legal or court order.

Q. Are cookies used in WebPay?
A. WebPay doesn’t explicitly use cookies but does use asp.net session variables which in turn normally uses cookies. A 'session cookie' is used to allow our server to distinguish repeat requests from the same customer during the course of a single payment. This is the only purpose for which cookies are employed. This cookie is not stored on your computer, and is normally discarded when you close the browser window.
